Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, spiritually based organization providing local human service programs and opportunities for individual and community involvement.
From rural America to inner-city neighborhoods, Volunteers of America provides outreach programs that deal with today’s most pressing social needs. Volunteers of America helps youths at risk, frail elderly, abused and neglected children, people with disabilities, homeless individuals and many others.
Volunteers of America is one of the nation’s most comprehensive human services charities. Programs and services for individuals, families and communities include:
•Community Volunteers of America strengthens community life through volunteer training and placement, and a wide range of special events and services including holiday meals and gift giving programs.
•Developmental Disabilities Services for people with developmental disabilities promote independence and dignity through job training and placement, life skills education, supported and assisted living, case management and protective services.
•Emergency Services These services include food, clothing, short-term housing, and assistance with rent, utilities and transportation bills for families in crisis.
•Healthcare Services Major program areas include nursing home care, assisted living, rehabilitative therapy, home health care, outpatient clinical services, health education and screening.
