Possible Sources of Funding United Cerebral Palsy
In 1953 United Cerebral Palsy of Metropolitan Dallas was incorporated to provide services to individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. All services, except the group homes, are located in a beautiful and functional building opened in 1996 in Pine Creek, just off Regal Row on Harry Hines Boulevard.
The mission of UCP Dallas is to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. During 2000 UCP of Metropolitan Dallas served 699 consumers through 357,774 hours of service, including 67,429 miles of transportation services. In addition it served 1,540 individuals with Information and Referral Services and 4,556 with public education information.
Of the consumers served by UCP, 35% have cerebral palsy while the remaining 65% have other disabilities.
Major funding comes from the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, the Women’s Guild of UCP and its Foundation, individuals, community foundations, corporations, program fees, government contracts and special events.

Home and Community Support Services (HCS) is a Medicaid waiver program, which provides a variety of services according to the consumers’ level of need. Services include, but not limited to nursing, attendant care, alternate living residences, therapies, monies for adaptive aids and home modifications. It meets the requirements of the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.
