Possible Sources of Funding Texas Department On Aging
The Texas Department on Aging is the state's visible advocate and steward for a full range of services and opportunities that allow older Texans to live healthy, dignified, and independent lives.
Older persons in Texas have opportunities for education about meaningful and productive involvement in family and community activities and have choices that foster hope, dignity, respect, and independence.
Older Persons in Texas have the opportunity to secure:
•knowledge on economic security •optimal physical and mental health •the opportunity and supports necessary to live independently as long as possible •affordable, accessible, and safe housing including choices in supportive living •comprehensive community-based services including coordinated •social assistance and transportation •employment and education •access to research knowledge and technology •respect to cultural and racial diversity •prevention from discrimination due to age, ethnicity or gender •access to legal benefits, protection, and rights
Older persons in Texas contribute significantly to intergenerational exchanges which enhance quality of life issues for their families and communities.
